ABET's Accreditation Alerts summarize important changes in the Accreditation Criteria and the Accreditation Policy and Procedure Manual (APPM). The Alerts are posted here following approval by the ABET Board of Directors at their annual October meeting. Please contact the Accreditation Department if you have any questions.

Accreditation Criteria, Policy and Procedure Changes for the 2014-2015 Review Cycle and Forward 

  • Effective beginning with 2014-15 reviews 
  • On October 26, 2013 the ABET Board of Directors approved on second reading the following modification to the 2014-15 Accreditation Policy and Procedure Manual Section II.A.6. and II.A.7.Public Release of Accreditation Information by the Institution/Program.
  • APPM changes are applicable to all commissions
  • ABET is seeking comments on proposed criteria changes, due by June 15, 2014
